Lexis was a homeschooler during her senior year of high school. In September 2012 she received acceptance into Louisiana State University, where she will pursue a master's degree. The student must have graduated in the near future, however, the degree she received at her school remains undetermined. Lexis was raised in an environment of golfers which means she had no experience in the male-dominated game. Her first golfing experience was an enormous successful one. She became the youngest woman to qualify in 2007 to compete in the US Women's Open. The competition was not won and she finished second in that year by taking home the Aldila Junior Classic. This was her first win to win a title in the American Junior Golf Association.
